It just might be the Byron Bay Foodie event of the year. Sample Food Festival founder Remy Tancred is teaming up with two local chefs; Sarah Swan (from 100 Mile Table) and Katrina Kanetani (from Town Cafe, Bangalow) to put together a meal to remember, The Sample/100 Mile Table Regional Dinner Celebration.

A Menu That Celebrates Local Produce

If you are a fan of Byron region producers, the menu is a who’s who of the best the region has to offer.

Names like Nimbin Valley Dairy, Bangalow Cheese Co, Coopers Shoot Tomatoes, Salumi Australia, Summerland Olives and Byron Bay Pork are scattered across the first 3 courses. The full menu is tantalising however the dishes that have our attention are;

  • Fried Nimbin Valley Dairy goats cheese with shaved fennel and zucchini, fried capers.
  • Mushroom arancini with green goddess dressing.
  • Coopers Shoot cherry tomatoes with rosemary, garlic and anchovy.

There is so much more, however perhaps most tantalising is the thought of the secret dessert that Katrina Kanetani will present on the night. If you’ve tasted one of Katrina’s delicate pastries you’ll know why.
